The Drowning Prevention Coalition

Pool The Drowning Prevention Coalition (DPC) of Palm Beach County is a community-based organization whose target is to have ZERO drownings in Palm Beach County. The DPC is supported by over thirty agencies in the area that want to help the DPC reach its target. The DPC strives to be the primary resource for all of PBC residents' water safety needs.

The DPC's Mission: To promote, develop, and support training and community education efforts that prevent drowning, near drowning, and other water related incidents in Palm Beach County.

Preventing drowning, near drowning, and other water related incidents reaches beyond the individual and needs to become a community affair. Promoting the importance of water safety to a wide array of residents in PBC, is effective if communities band together and educate their own residents.

Recreational swimming, watercrafts, scuba diving, and snorkeling are just some of the water activities that Floridians can enjoy year round. This enjoyment however, can quickly turn to tragedy when a drowning or near drowning occurs. Water related tragedies do not discriminate – they strike all ages, races and socioeconomic levels.

Together, through community action, water related tragedies will no longer become front page and television news.
