Alligator on Island With Mottled Duck

Location: The Wakodahatchee Wetlands. Note that the birds that were on the island did not flush, although they did pay close attention and appeared nervous. After eating the Mottled Duck, the Alligator slept on the island in the sun for a number of days. In the winter, Alligators can enter a state of hibernation. In this state, they may not eat for months, and can stay underwater without breathing for weeks at a time.
