WHEN to COME?
The Nature Center is open throughout the year. Naturalist programs can also be scheduled throughout the year from Tuesday through Saturday, between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm
WHAT DOES it COST?
There is no admission fee for visiting the Nature Center. A program scheduled with a Naturalist costs $3 per person.
WHO CAN COME?
Any group is welcome at the Nature Center. Programs can be adapted to any age group of 10 to 25 individuals. If you have more than 25 in your group, participants can be split up and rotated between the program and exploration of the nature trails or indoor exhibits.
Snakes, turtles, tortoises, butterflies, and an alligator are available for presentations. Learn about these Florida creatures, where they live, what they eat, fun facts, and more!
A Nature Center Naturalist will guide you along the trails as we discover the places where tortoises burrow and Beauty Berries grow. Our pine flatwoods and wetlands are home to many species of plants and animals.
This bird of prey program is sure to please any audience. Learn what makes hawks and owls unique. Pick up a Raptor Chapter flyer for more information.
Is your troop interested in completing nature-related badge requirements? Or are you looking for a place to work on a Gold or Eagle Project? Okeeheelee Nature Center staff may be able to help with projects and badges for both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
