6.1.2018 - West Palm Beach, FL – The Palm Beach County Property Appraiser’s Office held its 25th annual College Scholarship Awards ceremony today and awarded five outstanding high school seniors (from Palm Beach County) with college scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each:

  • Sage Albert of the Dreyfoos School of the Arts, will be attending UNC at Chapel Hill
  • Stephanie Casting of Boca Raton Christian School, will be attending Columbia University
  • Jason Fox of Spanish River Community High School, will be attending Brown University
  • Faith Maniti of Oxbridge Academy, will be attending the University of Florida
  • Yessenia Perez Forest Hill Community High School, will be attending the University of Florida

“Congratulations to all of our scholarship recipients, said Property Appraiser Dorothy Jacks, CFA, AAS. They are truly exceptional and I wish them much success in their educational and future career goals.”

The event is particularly special to the PAO, because the money raised for the scholarships is 100% funded by the employees who participate in, “Friday Dress Casual Day”, a volunteer donation program.

For the 2018 scholarship program, more than 100 eligible applications were received and reviewed by our volunteer employee committee. These five high-achieving, exceptional students demonstrated excellence in academic ability, persistence, leadership, and service to others.

Since 1994, the PAO has awarded $130,000 in college scholarships. This is the first year the amount was increased to $2,000 (per scholarship award).
