Commissioner Kanjian Chairs Initial Meeting of the County’s Green Task Force

On September 18th, Commissioner Bob Kanjian chaired the first meeting of the County’s “Going Green Task Force on Environmental Sustainability and Conservation.”  The twenty-member Task Force represents a cross section of County professionals, many of whom are LEED accredited professionals, sharing an interest in improving the County’s environmental contributions and accomplishments.

In opening the meeting, Commissioner Kanjian said, “We need to be fiscally and environmentally responsible.  We need to offer incentives for constructing new green buildings and retrofitting existing buildings to be more environmentally friendly.  Finally, we need to educate our residents on initiatives they can undertake to improve our environment.”
