County Opens New Hypoluxo Road Bridge

Commissioner Shelley Vana took the ceremonial first ride over Florida’s Turnpike to officially open the new Hypoluxo Road bridge on November 20. The long-awaited link makes Hypoluxo Road a continuous east-west corridor from State Road 7 to South Dixie Highway.

Joining Commissioner Vana for the dedication were Commissioner Jess Santamaria, County Administrator Bob Weisman, County Engineer George Webb, and representatives from COWBRA and several homeowners associations.

The connector will significantly reduce travel time for residents living west of the turnpike who previously had to drive south to Boynton Beach Boulevard or north to Lantana Road. The project included widening approximately two miles of Hypoluxo Road to four lanes.
