Abrams Presents Check to Town of Highland Beach

On July 5th, Commissioner Abrams presented the Town of Highland Beach with $5,000 to be used for maintenance/improvements (including tree planting) to the county-owned property along A1A in Highland Beach.  The property was purchased by the county in 1987 with the intent of creating a public park.  As a result of numerous challenges over the years, the county and town have agreed to delay the project until 2020. The funds for these improvements were obtained from impact fees to developers for new construction in the south county area.
