On June 21, Commissioner Abrams participated in a panel discussion focusing on the state of regional leadership and initiatives in South Florida.   The panel was hosted by Darcie Lundsford, associate editor for the South Florida Business Journal.   Discussion was inspired by the journal’s ongoing series of articles (see link below) exploring different aspects of the recession, remaining critical issues, emerging trends and how different sectors are weathering the storm.

In addition to Abrams, other participants included county commissioners from Broward and Miami-Dade counties, executives and business group leaders from agencies such as the South Florida Regional Authority and the Palm Beach County Business Development Board.  There were numerous topics of discussion such as regional transportation, economic development initiatives and overcoming numerous challenges as elected officials.
