Commissioner Tours Local Restoration Projects

Joined by local residents and environmental officials from the county and the City of Boca Raton, the Commissioner toured the south Lake Worth Lagoon restoration project on June 18, 2010.  The project was completed by Palm Beach County’s Environmental Resource Management Department.  The sites visited included Ocean Ridge Natural Area, Lantana Oyster Project, Snook Islands (City of Lake Worth), C-51 Sediment Trap (City of West Palm Beach), Ibis Isle Restoration and John’s Island Restoration projects (Town of Palm Beach). 

The group also discussed potential restoration projects for other areas such as Spanish River and Lake Wyman in the City of Boca Raton.
