Commissioner Abrams Attends High School Charity Event

On Saturday, April 24, Commissioner Abrams joined the student-based organization Cover Backs Open Hearts at Spanish River High School in Boca Raton to participate in the 21st Annual Global Youth Service Day.  Cover Backs Open Hearts is a “kids helping kids” charity project benefitting youth in the foster care system as well as those aging out of the system. 

At the event, the Commissioner assisted the students in sorting clothing donations and preparing the items for distribution to foster care agencies such as Home Safe, The Haven and The Best Foot Forward Foundation. 

“This is a terrific group of children whose community efforts deserve to be recognized.  I am proud and honored to participate in such a worthwhile cause,” said Abrams.
