Lubber grasshoppers on crinum lily plant
Lubber grasshoppers on crinum lily plant
Lubber grasshoppers are common pests in our landscapes. Young lubbers are black with red or yellow lines along the seams of their bodies. Control them now, before these innocent looking youngsters turn into voracious leaf-eating adults.
Young lubbers can be hand-picked and destroyed early morning or late in the day as they hang in groups atop your prized plants. Call the Master Gardener volunteer hotline with your plant questions at 233-1758.
