Commissioner Attends Event Commemorating the Holocaust

On Sunday, March 21, Commissioner Abrams attended an event hosted by the League of Educational Awareness of the Holocaust (LEAH) at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.  The event commemorated the official opening of the LEAH USC Shoah Foundation Institute Visual History Archive Center at Florida Atlantic University which features public access to more than 52,000 video testimonies of Holocaust survivors and witnesses. 

“It is an honor to have such a historically significant archive right here in Palm Beach County. I encourage teachers, parents, students and every citizen to take advantage of this opportunity to learn from our past and to work to ensure nothing like this ever takes place again,” said Abrams.

In 1994, Steven Spielberg, inspired by his experience making the movie “Shindler’s List,” established the Shoah Visual History Foundation.
