March 2013 Program Guide at Daggerwing Nature Center

All programs are by reservation only, unless otherwise stated.  Please call (561) 629-8760 or visit the nature center to make program reservations. Fees (if applicable) are due the day of the program by cash or check only. All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form for every program. If you are more than 5 minutes late to a program you have made a reservation for, your spot will be given to a person on the waiting list.

ANIMAL FEEDINGS
Daily at 3:15-3:30pm
Families / All Ages, FREE (Reservations NOT Required)
3:15pm is feeding time! Listen to a short talk about a specific animal and then watch while they are fed. Wednesday - Alligator; Thursday - Snake; Friday - Skunk; Saturday - Alligator

MOMMY, MOTHER NATURE and ME: TURTLES
Friday, March 1, 10:30-11:15am
Ages 2-5, $4/child (Reservations Required)
Introduce your little ones to Mother Nature. During this class, we will explore our shelled-friends. Meet several LIVE turtles, and make a turtle craft to take home. Don’t miss it!

BE AN ANIMAL CARETAKER FOR A DAY!
Thursday, March 7, 2:00-3:00pm
Ages 8-12, $4/child (Reservations Required)
Get hands-on with our LIVE animal ambassadors – snakes, turtles and a skunk! Learn how to be a responsible pet owner and how to interact with wild animals!

MOMMY, MOTHER NATURE and ME: EVERYTHING GREEN
Friday, March 15, 10:30-11:15am
Ages 2-5, $4/child (Reservations Required)
Introduce your little ones to Mother Nature. During this class, we will search for things in nature that are the color green, and even meet some green LIVE animals. This class is a perfect way to start the St. Patty’s Day weekend!

RECYCLED CRAFTS
Saturday, March 16, 10:30-11:15am
Ages 5-10, $4/child (Reservations Required)
Local artist Sylvia Riquezes will demonstrate how to make a flower garden out of recycled materials. Then, creations will be put on display at Daggerwing Nature Center for everyone to enjoy and to teach others about recycling and conservation!

Daggerwing Nature Center is operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department and is located in Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park at 11435 Park Access Road, off Cain Boulevard between Glades Road and Yamato Road, in western Boca Raton.
