Mounts Botanical Garden to Host Day of Professional Pruning SaturdayThe Friends of Mounts Botanical Garden will host the third annual Day of Professional Pruning this Saturday, February 11, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This special workday is part of a statewide campaign coordinated by the Florida Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). A team of approximately 30 women and men from Florida ISA will work alongside volunteer crews from various local professional tree companies. They will prune and trim trees, as well as perform other horticultural clean-up chores throughout Mounts Botanical Garden. “This is a great opportunity for people who love trees to come out, chat with professional tree trimmers, and learn from local arborists,” said Mike Zimmerman, past-president of the Friends of Mounts Botanical Garden. “There will also be a lot of cool stuff to look at, big equipment and a lot of guys climbing up trees. This day of pruning is perfect for anyone who gardens or grows.” The ISA is a professional organization dedicated to continuing education for arborists, tree care research, and serving tree care consumers around the world. The Florida ISA shares this same dedication with a further commitment to serving the needs particular to Florida's professional arborists and tree care consumers. Mounts Botanical Garden is Palm Beach County’s oldest and largest public garden. Located at 531 North Military Trail in West Palm Beach, Mounts is open Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. The suggested donation for entry is $5 per person.
