Commissioner Tours Highridge Family Center
Commissioner Abrams visited the Highridge Family Center in West Palm Beach which is operated by the County’s Division of Youth Affairs. The center offers a residential three-month program for “at risk” adolescents ages 11 to 15 years, providing a wide array of services such as schooling, family, group and individual counseling concerning family, school and peer-related issues. It has been reported that 77 percent of the children admitted to the Highridge Family Center have either graduated from high school, gone on to post-secondary education, or are still in school. Youth Affairs is committed to offering a level of care to those families who need significant professional support in their efforts to develop healthy functioning children. Competence, consistency, caring and concern are the cornerstones of the division's programs with maintaining and strengthening the integrity of the family as the division's highest goal. For additional information, please contact the Youth Affairs Division at 561-625-2540.
