State of the County Address at Broken Sound

On February 9, Commissioner Abrams met with approximately 75 residents of the Broken Sound community in Boca Raton to discuss current county issues including ethics reform, budget, environmental initiatives and the proposed waste-to-energy plant. The Commissioner also recognized Broken Sound’s initiatives in composting.

In addition, he shared how the federal stimulus funds are being used by the county for road/bridge construction, energy efficiency projects, assistance in forestalling foreclosure of homes, and school salaries for teachers. The Commissioner also provided an opportunity for the residents to ask questions or voice their concerns.
