Lee Waring President & Chief Executive Officer, FirstCity Bank of Commerce CJC Member since 2009 As President and Chief Executive Officer of FirstCity Bank of Commerce, Lee Waring brings nearly 30 years of banking experience and executive leadership to his position. He joined Barnett Bank of Florida, in Palm Beach County, in the early 1980s as a banking center manager and commercial lender. Between 1984 and 1988 he grew this branch office from $75 million to $150 million in operations. He was promoted to a regional manager for Barnett Bank in 1988. His responsibilities grew within the organization, and by 1994 was responsible for 18 offices in Palm Beach County. He subsequently was promoted to the company's Martin County operation, in charge of all retail operations until the company's sale to Nations Bank in 1998. He then joined Gulfstream Business Bank as its market President, responsible for all phases of the bank's initial entry into Palm Beach County, including business development, strategic planning, site location, marketing and staffing. Within three years of opening, this single banking center grew dramatically under Mr. Waring's leadership. Mr. Waring earned his bachelor's in business administration from Upsala College. He has held a variety of leadership positions with local hospitals, development boards and economic councils as well as chambers of commerce and the Florida Banker's Association. |
