- North County Office of PBC Victim Services Moves to West Palm Beach
The Palm Beach County Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center North County Office has moved to a new location at 4210 North Australian Avenue, West Palm Beach. Victim Services will continue to maintain an office in the North County Courthouse where clients can be seen by appointment only.
- BCC Conceptually Approves Job Growth Incentive for Mortgage Underwriting Firm
At its regular meeting held on January 24, the Board of County Commissioners conceptually approved a Job Growth Incentive Grant of $75,000, to be matched by the city of Boca Raton, for Digital Risk, LLC.
- Southeast Florida Animal Shelters Partner to Beat the Heat!
In an effort to help reduce the pet overpopulation problem in the Southeast Florida region, six animal shelters have joined forces and formed the Southeast Florida Region Spay/Neuter Coalition. The Coalition’s first project is called “Beat the Heat Spay/Neuter Week” and will take place Feb. 21 through 25.
- Volunteers Donate 4,100 Hours to Help Keep PBC Clean and Green
The numbers have been crunched and the results are outstanding. Volunteers with the Palm Beach County Department of Environmental Resources Management (ERM) donated more than 4,100 labor hours in 2011 to help Palm Beach County's environment.
- Palm Tran Ridership Continues to Break Records
Palm Tran, Palm Beach County's public transportation agency, continues to break ridership records for both its fixed-route and paratransit services.
- Tri-Rail Joins Palm Tran with Strong Ridership Increases
The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) has announced that total ridership on Tri-Rail, including weekends and holidays, reached 3,948,100 in 2011.
- Free Concert Featuring Mad Cow at Sunset Cove
The West Boca Community Council and Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation will present a free concert featuring the classic rock band Mad Cow on Saturday, Feb. 25, at Sunset Cove Amphitheater.
- Black History Month Programs at Palm Beach County Libraries
February is Black History Month, and in observance the Palm Beach County Library System will be offering several programs for both adults and children at various branch library locations.
