At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on May 7, 2024, Mayor Sachs presented a proclamation recognizing Israel’s 76th Anniversary of Independence in Palm Beach County. On May 14, 1948, Israel’s first Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion publically read the Declaration of Independence of Israel, announcing the birth of a state “based on freedom, justice and peace.” Palm Beach County is honored to join in this celebration, and to recognize Israel’s 76th Anniversary of Independence, the Palm Beach County Historic Courthouse and Four Points building will be lit with Israel’s national colors of blue and white on the evenings of May 13 and 14.
