At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on May 7, 2024, Vice Mayor Marino presented a proclamation declaring May 6, 2024, as Melanoma Monday and May 2024 as Skin Cancer Awareness Month in Palm Beach County. Melanoma is a deadly form of skin cancer that affects over 100,000 people and leads to over 8,200 deaths annually. Palm Beach County has a substantial interest in promoting the health and wellness of its citizens and is committed to educating them about the prevention and early detection of melanoma and all forms of skin cancer.
