At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on May 7, 2024, Vice Mayor Marino presented a proclamation declaring May 2024 as National Physical Fitness Month in Palm Beach County. National Physical Fitness and Sports Month is an initiative of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition. The Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department is a strong Palm Beach County Sports Commission ally transforming The Palm Beaches into Florida’s most diverse and enriched sports community, providing venues for over 40 regional and national events, generating 40,000 hotel room nights and $30 million of visitor spending, on an average annual basis.
