At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on March 5, 2024, Commissioner Baxter presented a proclamation declaring March 10, 2024 as National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. This year’s theme for National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, “Prevention and Testing at Every Age. Care and Treatment at Every Stage,” emphasizes the need to advance prevention efforts and ensure equity in HIV care and treatment. In Palm Beach County, nearly 8,700 persons are living with HIV, and the Palm Beach County HIV Care Council and Palm Beach County Community Prevention Partnership, through their partners, are working together to renew HIV/AIDS awareness and to expand and strengthen local efforts to halt the spread of HIV.
