At the January 23, 2024 Board of County Commissioners meeting, Commissioner Baxter presented a proclamation declaring January 2024 as Florida Jewish History Month. Florida is home to diverse and thriving communities that encompass a rich array of cultural and ethnic backgrounds contributing to the unique tapestry of our great state. Jewish Americans have played significant and enduring roles in shaping the history, culture, prosperity and growth of our communities. Florida Jewish History Month serves as a meaningful occasion to honor the accomplishments, traditions and cultural heritage of Jewish Americans, fostering a greater understanding and appreciation for their integral role in our state’s history.
