At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Nov. 7, 2023, Commissioner Woodward presented a proclamation declaring November 2023 as Palm Beach County Disability Employment Awareness Month. The School District of Palm Beach County serves approximately 38,000 students identified as eligible for Exceptional Student Education (ESE) who may have physical, cognitive, mental or hidden disabilities that substantially limit one or more major life activities. The Archer Disability Foundation Inc. works to advance county students with disabilities, increase opportunities for ESE students transitioning out of high school and promote career exploration to advance the skills needed to gain employment in their community.
