At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Sept. 12, 2023, Commissioner Woodward presented a proclamation recognizing the 11th anniversary of Marine Education Initiative (MEI). Its mission includes driving conservation through education by empowering students in the community with the knowledge of ocean conservation through hands-on experiences in aquaponics. MEI also contributes to the community by donating fresh produce and fostering a sustainable cycle of learning and giving.
