At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on July 11, 2023, Commissioner Woodward presented a proclamation declaring July 12, 2023, as Boca Helping Hands Day in Palm Beach County. About 25 years ago, Boca Helping Hands’ founders had a vision to provide hunger-relief services for community members living at or below the federal poverty guideline. With the support of local faith organizations and the community, this vision of providing hot meals and pantry bag services to those in need led to the development of the Soup Kitchen Planning Group in 1998. Boca Helping Hands has now grown to assist nearly 35,000 clients annually in Southern Palm Beach County via its base of operations in East Boca and satellite locations in Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Lake Worth and West Boca.
