On July 6, 2023, Commissioner Woodward toured the Butterfly House operated by Palm Beach County Victim Services at Wellington Regional Medical Center. The commissioner commended the organization for actively assisting sexually assaulted victims through their programs and services.
With the overall goal of helping sexually assaulted victims, the Butterfly House in Wellington provides survivors with a team of professionals to assist with services, including crisis stabilization, support groups, treatment and more.
In 2022, over 12,000 services were provided to nearly 600 victims of sexual assault, and over 200 forensic exams were performed. We appreciate the care and professionalism of the Victim Services staff at the Butterfly House.
