At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on May 2, 2023, Commissioner Woodward presented a proclamation declaring May 2023 as Building Safety Month in Palm Beach County. Building Safety Month promotes the commitment of local and state building departments, fire prevention bureaus and federal agencies to improve building safety in the community and acknowledge the essential service they provide to all of us in protecting lives and property. The 2023 Building Safety Month theme, “It Starts with You,” encourages all Americans to raise awareness of the importance of building safety, fire prevention and disaster mitigation and recognize that countless lives have been saved due to the implementation of safety codes by local and state agencies.
