On Jan. 14, 2023, Commissioner Woodward attended Cadet Fest hosted by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBFR) at the headquarters in West Palm Beach.
The commissioner participated in a few activities, including climbing a 75-foot extension ladder! She thanked all the first responders and the cadets for their service.
PBFR is one of the largest fire departments in the state of Florida. In addition to fire and medical emergencies, first responders are trained to respond to hazardous materials/conditions, plane crashes, aircraft emergencies, active shooter incidents, chemical and fuel spills, and water and animal rescues. They are also involved in hurricane/disaster planning and response and presidential detail.
