At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Jan. 10, 2023, Commissioner Baxter presented a proclamation declaring Jan. 26-27, 2023 as 24-hour Homeless Point-in-Time Count Day in Palm Beach County.  Each year, the Palm Beach County Homeless and Housing Alliance conducts the Homeless Point-in-Time Count to determine the number of sheltered and unsheltered people experiencing homelessness on a single night in January in Palm Beach County. The Palm Beach County 2022 Homeless Point-in-Time Count identified 1,404 individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The data helps local communities identify and plan services and programs to appropriately address local needs, measure progress in decreasing homelessness and identify strengths and gaps in a community's current homelessness assistance system.
