​On Jan. 7, 2023, Commissioner Woodward participated in the Promise Fund of Florida’s Annual Bridge Lighting & Pink Boots on the Ground Celebration at the Royal Park Bridge which connects West Palm Beach to Palm Beach. The bridge will be lit pink in January to help bring awareness to breast and cervical cancer.

The commissioner thanked the event partners for their work in obtaining quality health care for our residents in need.

Florida ranks last in the United States for the number of women under 65 who have insurance, magnifying their vulnerability to death from cancer. The mission of the Promise Fund is to help women overcome financial barriers and reduce deaths through early detection by utilizing strategies such as community awareness and partnerships. The nonprofit conducts ongoing community outreach and education to raise awareness of the importance of early detection and facilitates access to quality health care for those requiring diagnostics and treatment.
