Busch Wildlife Sanctuary broke ground on a new 20-acre site in Jupiter Farms at a ceremony held March 10.
District 1 Commissioner Maria Marino was on hand to help kick off the well-received expansion project.
Currently housed on property leased from the Loxahatchee River District, the Sanctuary treats injured
wildlife until they can be released back into their natural habitat. The increased demand for their services
created the need for the new $15M facility, which will double their space for animal rehabilitation and
public education uses.
The Sanctuary is looking forward to a grand opening in early 2023.
