HURRICANE ISAIAS WRAP-UP

During a news conference at the Emergency Operations Center, County Officials gave the final update of Hurricane Isaias and the continued efforts to Combat COVID 19.

PBC ORDERS, ACTIONS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

*NEW* SHELTERS
All Palm Beach County Emergency Shelters are now closed.

*NEW* PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
​PBI is open and operational. Please contact your airline for up-to-date flight status prior to going to the airport.

*NEW* PARKS AND BEACHES
Parks, beaches and facilities will resume normal operations tomorrow.

*NEW* PALM TRAN OPERATIONS
Regular service will resume beginning Monday, August 3rd, 2020. Stay safe and thank you for riding Palm Tran.

*NEW* ROAD AND BRIDGE
County Engineering & Public Works have assessed the roadways and traffic signals. Major roadways are clear, twenty five signals are in flash. Residents are advised to proceed with caution at intersections with no signal and treat them as a four-way stop.

​All bridges to the barrier islands remain in locked down, waiting on the all clear from Coast Guard. Spans will not open for any boat traffic.

*NEW* TRI-RAIL SERVICE SUSPENDED
Tri-Rail services will remain suspended Sunday, August 2, as it will be restoring the corridor to be back in service Monday, August 3.

*NEW* SOLID WASTE AUTHORITY
All SWA facilities and services will resume normal operation Monday (08/03/2020). Garbage, recyclables or yard waste collection in unincorporated Palm Beach County will resume on their regular schedule and onsite drop-offs will be accepted.

However, the SWA trails will remain closed pending inspection.

Those who live in a city should contact their municipality for information on the status of collection service in their community. A list of city contacts [swa.org] is available on the SWA website

PORTS CLOSED
Effective 8:00 am on 8/1/20, the Captain of the Port has ordered the Port of Palm Beach, Ft Pierce, and Port Everglades closed to all inbound and outbound traffic until further notice.​

BCC ADOPTS EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE 2020-013 AMENDMENTS
On July 28, the Board of County Commissioners unanimously adopted Emergency Ordinance 2020-013. The measure amends Article II of Chapter 9 of the Palm Beach County Code of Ordinances known as the Emergency Management Ordinance, which provides procedures for managing emergencies.

LIMITED EXTENSION OF MORTGAGE FORECLOSURE AND EVICTION RELIEF
Executive Order 20-180 has been extended until 12:01 a.m. September 1.

RESTRICTING OPERATING HOURS OF RESTAURANTS, FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS AND OTHER BUSINESSES
Palm Beach County Emergency Order 2020-015

No establishment permitted to serve food for on-site consumption, whether indoor or outdoor, shall serve food between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Delivery, drive-through, pick-up, or take-out services are permitted for off-site consumption.

EXTENSION OF FACIAL COVERINGS DIRECTIVE
Palm Beach County Emergency Order 2020-16
Extension of the facial coverings directive Emergency Order 2020-012 has been extended until 12:01 a.m. August 23. This order applies in all incorporated and unincorporated areas of Palm Beach County.

*NEW* HEALTH CARE DISTRICT OF PALM BEACH COUNTY TESTING SITES TO REOPEN TUESDAY
COVID-19 testing will resume Tuesday, August 4th at the following Health Care District of Palm Beach County testing sites to allow for set-up on Monday: the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches for appointment-only drive-thru testing and walk-up testing at the Delray Beach, West Palm Beach, Jupiter and Belle Glade Clinics. The Lantana Clinic will also reopen Tuesday for appointment-only testing for first responders and emergency workers. The Health Care District's mobile clinic, Scout, will proceed with testing tomorrow as scheduled. During business hours Monday, callers can make an appointment for testing on Tuesday by calling the Health Care District's COVID-19 Testing Hotline at 561-642-1000.​

CARES RESTART BUSINESS GRANT PROGRAM OFFERED FROM PALM BEACH COUNTY
The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) approved the CARES Restart Business Grants Program to accelerate the reopening of businesses hardest hit by COVID-19. The $60 million Business Restart Program uses a portion of the county's $261 million allocation from the Federal CARES Act approved by Congress. The BCC has dedicated $50 million toward businesses with 25 or fewer employees and $10 million towards businesses with greater than 25 employees. The application period is now over but could reopen if grant dollars remain after the current applications are processed.

Locations for CARES Act Rent and Utilities Document Drop-off and Application Assistance
The PBC Community Services Department (CSD) has added new locations to help applicants who have submitted CARES Act applications and need assistance with uploading pending documentation, verifying eligibility and/or processing the application only.

Applicants may make an appointment to submit documents at CSD's drive-thru intake, located at 810 Datura Street, West Palm Beach, and 1440 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Riviera Beach, on
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.  Please call (561) 355-4792 to make/confirm appointments and find out the drive-thru hours. 

FOOD RESOURCES
Tuesday and Thursday food distributions continue to be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 51 locations across the District.

Grab & Go Meals are FREE to students 18 years of age and younger (22 years of age and younger for ESE students), regardless of financial need. 

Feeding South Florida will distribute free food for families at select schools on Tuesday and Thursday.

PALM TRAN
Palm Tran passengers will now begin boarding through the front door starting August 12, 2020. Palm Tran passengers will board through the front and exit through the back doors. Palm Tran will begin collecting fares on all services starting August 16, 2020. Stay Safe!
