*NEW* VIDEO: PALM BEACH COUNTY OFFICIALS PREPARE FOR HURRICANE ISAIAS
During a news conference at the Emergency Operations Center, County Officials gave an update on preparations and response measures for Hurricane Isaias.
*NEW* SHELTERS OPENING IN PBC
Due to track changes and storm intensity of Hurricane Isaias, Palm Beach County will open four (4) general population shelters and a pet friendly shelter for animals only for those residents that reside in Evacuation Zone A beginning at 8 am on Saturday, August 1st. Evacuation Zone A is for residents living in a manufactured/mobile home or sub-standard housing.
Palm Beach County has contacted all Special Needs Shelter clients to inquire on their need to be sheltered at the South Florida Fairgrounds facility.
The four general population shelters are:
- Lake Shore Middle School: 425 W Canal St. N, Belle Glade
- Palm Beach Gardens High School: 4245 Holly Dr., Palm Beach Gardens
- Palm Beach Central High School: 8499 Forest Hill Blvd., Wellington
- Park Vista High School: 7900 Jog Rd., Lake Worth
- Animals only shelter for residents sheltering at Park Vista High School - West Boynton Recreation Center: 6000 Northtree Blvd., Lake Worth
Shelters will be setup to accommodate social distancing. Families will not have more space, but spaces between families will be larger. Residents should be prepared to take cleaning items with you like soap, hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes or general household cleaning supplies to disinfect surfaces.
Residents are strongly urged to shelter in place if safe to do so. It is safer at home. Those utilizing designated shelters will be screened, temperatures taken and required to wear facial coverings. Facial coverings are required for everyone over the age of 2.
The Emergency Information Center, 561-712-6400, is staffed 24 hours per day for residents with questions regarding sheltering and hurricane preparedness.

A state of local emergency is in effect in Palm Beach County and may be extended as necessary.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 20-181 EMERGENCY – HURRICANE ISAIAS
Governor DeSantis issued
Executive Order 20-181, declaring a state of emergency in the following counties as Hurricane Isaias approaches Florida: Brevard, Broward, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Indian River, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Nassau, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Putnam, Seminole, St. Johns, St. Lucie, and Volusia.
*NEW* PARKS AND BEACHES CLOSED SATURDAY
Palm Beach County parks and beaches will be closed on Saturday, August 1. County parks and beaches will re-open on Sunday, August 2 if conditions allow. Mounts Botanical Gardens will be closed Saturday and Sunday, reopening on Tuesday.
*NEW* PALM BEACH COUNTY LIBRARIES CLOSED
Due to Hurricane Isaias, all Palm Beach County Library System locations are closed Saturday and Sunday. Any digital activities taking place on Saturday, August 1 are cancelled.
*NEW* ALL SOLID WASTE AUTHORITY DISPOSAL FACILITIES TO CLOSE, NO WASTE COLLECTION SERVICE IN UNINCORPORATED PBC ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 1
All Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County facilities and operations will be closed Saturday. There will also be no garbage, recyclables or yard waste collection in unincorporated Palm Beach County and no onsite drop-offs will be accepted until after the storm passes and it is safe to open facilities up.
Those who live in a city should contact their municipality for information on the status of collection service in their community. A
list of city contacts [swa.org] is available on the SWA website.
All SWA facilities and operations are expected to reopen Monday, August 3 and waste collection in unincorporated Palm Beach County will resume as usual.
Back to School PBC! Drive-Up Event Postponed
The Back to School PBC! Drive-Up event, originally scheduled for August 1, has been postponed due to the developing tropical storm. The Office of Community Revitalization is working with partners to reschedule the event, as the safety of the staff and volunteers remains a top priority. A new date will be announced as soon as it is confirmed.

On July 28, the Board of County Commissioners unanimously adopted
Emergency Ordinance 2020-013. The measure amends Article II of Chapter 9 of the Palm Beach County Code of Ordinances known as the Emergency Management Ordinance, which provides procedures for managing emergencies.
LIMITED EXTENSION OF MORTGAGE FORECLOSURE AND EVICTION RELIEF
Executive Order 20-180 has been extended until 12:01 a.m. September 1.

RESTRICTING OPERATING HOURS OF RESTAURANTS, FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS AND OTHER BUSINESSES
Palm Beach County Emergency Order 2020-015
No establishment permitted to serve food for on-site consumption, whether indoor or outdoor, shall serve food between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Delivery, drive-through, pick-up, or take-out services are permitted for off-site consumption.
EXTENSION OF FACIAL COVERINGS DIRECTIVE

Extension of the facial coverings directive Emergency Order 2020-012 has been extended until 12:01 a.m. August 23. This order applies in all incorporated and unincorporated areas of Palm Beach County.

ALL HEALTH CARE DISTRICT OF PALM BEACH COUNTY TESTING SITES SUSPENDED SATURDAY
All COVID-19 testing will be suspended at all Health Care District of Palm Beach County sites. These sites include the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches, the Delray Beach, Lantana, West Palm Beach, Jupiter and Belle Glade Clinics and the mobile clinic, Scout.
On Monday, August 3, there will be no testing at the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches site, but other locations will be assessed to determine if they are safe to open. While testing is suspended, the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics will follow normal business hours. Call the Health Care District's Testing Hotline during business hours on Monday at 561-642-1000 to check if appointment scheduling for testing has resumed.

Grab & Go Meals are FREE to students 18 years of age and younger (22 years of age and younger for ESE students), regardless of financial need.
Feeding South Florida will distribute free food for families at select schools on Tuesday and Thursday.
