Mounts Botanical Garden Reopening June 16

Body

After being closed for nearly three months, Mounts Botanical Garden will reopen to the public on Tuesday, June 16, at 10 a.m. In compliance with county, state and public health department recommendations during the current COVID-19 pandemic, Mounts will implement Phase 1 of its reopening plan, which includes new policies and guidelines. Visitors are encouraged to visit www.Mounts.org/Reopening to review these prior to their visit.

Mounts will be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays during the month of June, with the hope of being open on weekends starting in July. The garden will remain closed on Mondays going forward. The garden's gift shop will remain closed in June.

No more than 100 people will be allowed into the garden at a time, and social distancing will be required throughout the garden. "We continue to monitor the situation closely and are prepared to make decisions based on current needs, as well as in response to changing conditions," said Curator Director Rochelle Wolberg. "For example, all picnic tables have been removed."

Admission to Mounts has been reduced to $10 (general); $5 (children 5-12), and free for members.

Two family friendly exhibitions are still in place:

+ Ribbit the Exhibit, which features a collection of larger-than-life frog characters, is expected to remain until mid-July.

+Cutting Corners: A Stickwork Exhibition is a willow sculpture located in the Great Lawn area.
