Office of Equal Business Opportunity Offers Teleconference Series, “Tuesday’s Tips,” to Keep Businesses in the Loop

Body

Each week, the Palm Beach County Office of Equal Business Opportunity (OEBO) hosts "Tuesday's Tips," a teleconference series created to provide up-to-date information to the small business community. This series includes information on topics relevant to small businesses amid the COVID-19 crisis such as funding opportunities, taxes and accounting, legal issues, and strategic planning and marketing.

The next edition of "Tuesday's Tips," The Comeback: What to Expect, will be on May 12, 2020.  Guest speakers are:

  • Ashley D. Bell, regional administrator, U.S. Small Business Administrator, Region IV
  • Jamal Sowell, Florida secretary of commerce, president & CEO, Enterprise Florida
  • Mack Bernard, commissioner, Palm Beach County
  • Kelly Smallridge, president & CEO, Business Development Board of Palm Beach County

Small businesses throughout Palm Beach County are struggling to navigate the uncertainty of COVID-19.  Businesses have had to shift to operating outside of the normal, and so many questions remain unanswered…How do I maintain financially? What loans are available to me now, how do I get them, and when do I have to repay them? What happens when this is over?

"This teleconference series is for Small/Minority/Women businesses owners to find answers to the questions they have about functioning in this 'new normal'," said Tonya Davis Johnson, director of the Palm Beach County Office of Equal Business Opportunity. "Through this forum, our office is committed to providing our business community the most up-to-date, pertinent information possible."

"Tuesday's Tips" takes place every Tuesday at 1 p.m.  Anyone interested can dial in to (929) 205-6099, Meeting ID: 411 263 931. Participants may email questions for the guest speakers to asmith5@pbcgov.org.
