County Mayor Issues Letter to Governor Requesting Phase 1 Reopening of Local Businesses

​Mayor Dave Kerner submitted a letter to Governor Ron DeSantis requesting a Phase I reopening of businesses in Palm Beach County. At Tuesday's Board of County Commission meeting, board members authorized Mayor Kerner to send a letter requesting Palm Beach County be granted an opportunity to reopen Phase I of the Governor's restart program.

Currently, Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties are excluded from the statewide Phase 1 restart authorized in the governor's Executive Order 20-112.

A special meeting of the BCC will be held on Friday, May 8, beginning at 9:30 a.m. to review a plan for reopening local beaches. Friday's special meeting will be carried live on PBC-TV Channel 20.
