PBC ORDERS, ACTIONS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

PBC Emergency Order Number Five Reopens county parks, public and private golf courses, pools, marinas and boat ramps with limitations. Park visitors must practice social distancing, maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet) from others when possible. Face coverings are strongly encouraged and should be worn whenever possible.

  • Parks and natural areas will be open sunrise to sunset for one-way walking, running and biking, equestrian riding, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and use of lakes while practicing social distancing. Basketball and volleyball courts are for individual practice only.
  • Pickleball and tennis courts are for singles play only.
  • Playgrounds and dog parks remain closed until further notice.
  • All Palm Beach County beaches remain closed.
  • Boat ramps are open, with limitations on capacities, based on size of the boat.
  • County-operated golf courses will reopen to the public on Monday, May 4, with significant modifications for single play. 
  • Pool capacity shall be limited to ensure that social distancing is maintained at all times.
  • Locker room and shower facilities remain closed.
  • Pool deck seating or lounging shall be restricted.

Health Care District of Palm Beach County's Testing for Wednesday, 4-29-20:

West Palm Beach Testing Site at the FITTEAM Ballpark-The Health Care District of Palm Beach County's C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics tested 387 patients at the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach.  There were 87 patients who did not show for their scheduled appointments. The average age of the patients tested was 48.  A total of 35 children were tested and the youngest patient was eight months old.  Patients are notified when their results are in. A total of 12,529 tests have been administered at the site since it opened on March 31st.  Drive-thru testing at the West Palm Beach test site is by appointment only through the Health Care District's Testing Hotline, 561-642-1000.

Belle Glade Testing Site-The Health Care District's C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics tested 111 patients at the COVID-19 testing site in Belle Glade. There were 22 patients who did not show for their scheduled appointments. The average age of the patients tested was 39. A total of 41 children were tested and the youngest patient was three months old. Patients are notified when their results are in. The drive-thru and walk-up testing site is located on the grounds of the Health Care District's acute care, teaching hospital, Lakeside Medical Center, at 39200 Hooker Highway in Belle Glade. Individuals can be any age, and need not be symptomatic to be registered and tested, but they must call the Health Care District's Testing Hotline, 561-642-1000, to be scheduled in advance for testing. Patients who do not have a personal vehicle or use public bus transportation must also have an appointment. Since March, the Health Care District has tested 943 patients at the Belle Glade clinic site.

West Palm Beach (45th Street) Testing Site-The Health Care District's C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics tested 41 patients at the West Palm Beach clinic, which is located at 1150 45th Street. There were 13 patients who did not show for their scheduled walk-up appointments. The average ages of the patients tested was 49.  A total of 2 children were tested and the youngest patient was 9 years old. Testing at this walk-up site is available by appointment on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon.

Jupiter Testing Site-The Health Care District scheduled 56 appointments for tomorrow, Thursday, April 30th at the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics' site located at 411 W. Indiantown Rd. in Jupiter. Testing at this walk-up site is available by appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to noon. Residents are encouraged to call the Health Care District's Testing Hotline, 561-642-1000, to schedule appointments at all of its testing sites. Testing is open to individuals of any age who do not need to be symptomatic.

South County Civic Center-Cleveland Clinic Florida Testing

During today's drive-thru testing for COVID-19 at the South County Civic Center, Cleveland Clinic Florida tested 133 patients. Appointments can be made at 561-804-0250. Cleveland Clinic Florida has expanded criteria for individuals eligible for COVID-19 testing. Anyone over the age of 16 who has a fever or non-febrile respiratory illness (such as cough, shortness of breath, runny nose) or fever and gastrointestinal illness (such as diarrhea, vomiting), will be eligible for testing at our South Palm Beach County drive-through location. You must call to be screened and confirm an appointment time.

SUMMER FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM

Palm Beach County Youth Services Department's Summer Food Service Program, in partnership with the the Library System are distributing meals at six sites throughout Palm Beach County. Meal distribution will be available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or until all meal kits are distributed. Currently, pre-summer feeding sites will distribute food once a week through Wednesday, May 27.

Parents picking up kits without their child present must bring identification for the child. Acceptable forms of identification include student ID, child's passport or other government-issued ID, birth certificate, adoption decree, immunization records, and school demographics. Meal kits will not be provided to parents who do not bring their child or do not provide proper identification. Proper safety measures must be practiced.

Today was the first day of meal distribution in the Glades through the Youth Services Department's pre-summer feeding program.  We distributed at the libraries in Belle Glade, South Bay and Pahokee.1,085 meals were served today for a total of 2,093 meals distributed this week.

DELRAY BEACH TAX COLLECTOR OFFICE OPEN FOR DRIVER LICENSE APPOINTMENTS ONLY
The Tax Collector's Office at 501 South Congress Avenue in Delray Beach is now open for residents only who have a driver license appointment. All other office locations will remain closed to the public until further notice. Click here to read the latest update from Tax Collector Anne Gannon.

  • Only Palm Beach County residents who cannot renew their driver license online will be
    served in-person.

S.T.O.P. COVID-19 Fraud campaign is a public outreach of critical information to the public related to COVID-19 fraud and criminal activity. School Feeding Sites

*Reminder* Beginning Thursday, April 30, the number of food distribution locations will increase to 51 schools across Palm Beach County. Meals will be distributed on Thursday only from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Parents or guardians who pick up meals on Thursday will be picking up a kit with two meals for six days totaling 12 meals for each child. Feeding South Florida Offers Drive-thru Food Distribution

On Friday, May 1, Feeding South Florida will open a drive-thru distribution site at FAU's John D. MacArthur campus.  Food will be distributed 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. in the parking lot off of Parkside Drive just north of Donald Ross Road.  Food will be distributed on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.  Volunteers also needed for this event.  For more information, visit feedingsouthflorida.org.  

DEPARTMENT OF ELDER AFFAIRS
Music and Robotic Pet Therapy for People Living with Dementia
DOEA has developed an online form to allow individuals or their caregivers to request MP3 Players or a therapeutic robotic cat or dog to combat social isolation and ensure seniors remain engaged during the practice of social distancing to stop the spread of COVID-19. AGING & DISABILITY RESOURCE CENTER (ADRC HELPLINE)

Seniors 60+ are encouraged to call the ADRC Helpline 1(866) 684-5885 for information on services for seniors in need of meals, Electric Bill Assistance, Respite for the Caregiver, Adult Day Care, In-home Services, Personal Care, Food Stamps (SNAP), Extra Help for prescription drugs, COVID 19 information and questions on Medicare or Medicaid. Specially trained counselors are available to help in English, Spanish or Creole Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Seniors registered through the Agency Helpline and served by the Volen Center and Palm Beach County Division of Senior Services are able to receive food on a scheduled basis in a "drop and go" fashion without leaving their cars.

Several pet food banks in Palm Beach County are running desperately low on resources and donations. Items most needed:

Providing Read-Aloud to the School District's Virtual Classrooms
Palm Beach County Library System is offering the School District virtual read-alouds in the virtual classroom. Teachers can select a book and time slots and fill out a form and one of our librarians will visit your virtual classroom to read a book to your students. Speak with your school's media specialist to register. Librarians have access to many of the 2020 Sunshine State Readers.

Palm Tran Lobby Closure
Due to Covid-19, our lobby at 3201 Electronics Way in West Palm Beach, FL is temporarily CLOSED to visitors. If you need assistance please call 561-841-4200 or visit our website at www.palmtran.org

Palm Tran Fixed Route and Paratransit

  • All passengers should have a mask covering their nose and mouth while riding.
  • The number of people onboard has been limited to no more than 15 passengers.
  • Palm Tran Fixed-Route continues to operate on a Saturday schedule except routes 1, 2, 3, 43  
    and 62 which are on a regular weekday schedule. Sundays continue to operate on a
    Sunday schedule.
  • Palm Tran Connection is essential trips only.

Go Glades Service

  • Palm Tran's western community bus service, Go Glades, Routes 1, 2, 3 and 4 are currently not running a regular service. You will be able to book a trip directly to and from your destination by calling: (561) 649-9838.
  • The Palm Tran call center (561) 841-4BUS (4287) is operating from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Many trip planning functions may be done through the Palm Tran app and on palmtran.org.

Tri-Rail

  • Passengers are urged to wear masks while riding. Tri-Rail continues to offer an amended schedule until further notice, with 18-trains every 2 hours starting at 4:17 a.m. on weekdays, and 12-trains every 3-hours starting at 5:17 a.m. on weekends. 
  • Trains have suspended fares and are operating on a modified schedule:
    18 trains on Weekdays, 12 trains on Saturday, 12 trains on Sunday.

Brightline

  • Train service is suspended until further notice.

EARLY LEARNING COALITION OF PALM BEACH COUNTY

JURY DUTY

The Fifteenth Judicial Circuit is limiting most face-to-face hearings. Anyone who enters the courthouse will undergo a non-invasive temperature scan.
