Body

Select Palm Beach County outdoor recreational facilities will reopen to the public on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 (see detailed activity list below).

Parks and natural areas will be open sunrise to sunset for one-way walking, running and biking, equestrian riding, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and use of lakes while practicing social distancing. Basketball and volleyball courts are for individual practice only. Pickleball and tennis courts are for singles play only. Playgrounds and dog parks remain closed until further notice.

For now, all Palm Beach County beaches remain closed. Restrictions and conditions for reopening beaches are still being coordinated with Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties.

Boat ramps will open, with limitations on capacities, based on size of the boat. See detailed activity list for more information.

County-operated golf courses will reopen to the public on Monday, May 4, with significant modifications for single play. Golf courses will begin taking tee times on April 29.

Park visitors must practice social distancing—remaining out of congregate settings, avoiding mass gatherings and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others when possible. The following is also expected of park visitors: follow CDC's guidelines on personal hygiene prior to visiting parks or trails; do not use parks or trails if exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19; be prepared for limited access to public restrooms or water fountains; share the trail and warn other trail users of your presence as you pass. Face coverings are strongly encouraged and should be worn whenever possible.

For more information, please see Palm Beach County Emergency Order Number Five.
