On Saturday, April 20, 2019, Commissioner Valeche joined fellow commissioners Weiss, Weinroth, and Mayor Bernard to honor the service of CW2 Jonathan R. Farmer, a decorated US Army soldier who was killed in January in a bombing attack in Syria.
At a ceremony attended by family and friends in Lake Lytal Park, CW2 Farmer's name was unveiled on a permanent marble marker in the park, dedicated to members of the Palm Beach County community who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the global war on terrorism.
